I&RS Team Intervention and Referral Services Team
Our Focus
The Intervention and Referral Services Team is dedicated to helping students, teachers, parents, counselors, administrators, and any other member of the Glassboro family. We firmly believe that every child has the capacity to learn, and it is our firm responsibility to bring success to all of our students. By focusing on one area of difficulty at a time, we help teach our students that they can learn. These students leave our committee feeling self-confident and successful.
Our referring staff has the support and guidance that they need to ensure the success of all students. It takes a village to raise a child, and the Glassboro High School Intervention and Referral Services Team has proven to be the heart of that village. We are firmly dedicated to helping all who come for assistance.
What We Do
The I&RS Team likes to treat every referral as uniquely as our wonderful students. In most instances, a teacher, parent, administrator, or guidance counselor will refer a student to the team whom he or she feels is struggling either academically or behaviorally. Upon receiving a referral, the committee meets to discuss the case. Mrs. Haldeman, the committee leader, will assign a case manager. The case manager is responsible for collecting all required information about the student. We look at the whole student, and use information collected from teachers, parents, discipline records, health reports, and attendance records, and most important ~ the student. The committee will work with the referring party to focus on one area where the student is struggling and develop a plan to help the student reach success.
Sucess builds on success, and the I&RS Team is dedicated to the success of everyone involved. We make frequent check-ups to make sure our student and staff are continuing to meet with success.
