PRIDE is our character education program; it is district-wide. Rodgers School has great enthusiasm for helping our young students embrace these virtues each month! Please scroll to the bottom to see all the virtues and definitions. Each month, a student is selected as a Bulldog Buddy for embracing these virtues in our classroom. We celebrate these students!
The PRIDE program and team have provided the following definitions:
SEPTEMBER - Wisdom: Seeing what is right, what is truthful, and always knowing the right thing to do.
OCTOBER - Integrity: Following the rules, being honest, telling the truth, and doing what you say you are going to do.
NOVEMBER - Self-Control: The ability to control your feelings, emotions, reactions...and behavior.
DECEMBER - Justice: Treating other people fairly, as you would want to be treated yourself.
Also, it means "fair." Everyone gets what they need; fair and equal equality are not the same thing.
JANUARY - Fortitude: Sticking with it and doing the right thing when it is hard to do.
FEBRUARY - Positive Attitude: Thinking and believing that everything will turn out well in all that you do.
MARCH - Humility: Being confident without thinking you are better than someone else.
APRIL - Respect: Understanding how others think and feel, then treating them with kindness.
MAY - Love: Being a true friend who unconditionally gives and wants the absolute best for someone.
JUNE - Charity: Caring for and helping other people through acts of giving and service.
