Wit and Wisdom Module 4: The Continents
An Essential Question (EQ) is the BIG question that takes the length of the Module to answer. Each Module has its own essential question that we discuss while reading the Module's texts.
A Focusing Question (FQ) is a MEDIUM question that we answer over a few days. Each book has its own focusing questions that we answer as we complete each text.
A Content Framing Question (CFQ) is the SMALL question that we answer during each lesson. We will have different content framing questions each day that are answered within the lesson.
GEODES
Connected, individual texts that are used to expand and extend Wit and Wisdom modules and topics; Geodes also reflects Fundations skills, such as identification of beginning and ending sounds in words.
This is NOT "guided reading," but this instruction helps students apply information acquired from the Wit and Wisdom curriculum by reading short stories in a small group with the classroom teacher's guidance. These texts do not follow a leveling system.
