Fundations is a program that instructs students in phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, and word study (both phonetic and high frequency sight words). Fundations also contributes to fluency, vocabulary development, and strategies for understanding text. 

Unit 4, Week 4 begins. We will continue blending, segmenting, and manipulating sounds to read and write consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words. We will also continue learning digraphs -- two letters that make one sound together (sh, ch, ck, th, wh). We will focus on spelling words with -ck at the end. 

Our sight words for this week are: want, our. 

If your child can already read the words, have them practice spelling them and using them in sentences.
