Our school has Bulldog Character PRIDE!
Character word of the month: Wisdom
*All first grade classrooms had an introduction to school counseling lesson to learn the five important jobs of a school counselor, who their school counselors are, and even got a chance to play school counselor BINGO! We also listened to the wise owl song and discussed the importance of being a good listener to gain wisdom.
*Grades 2-3 used The Wise Owl text to learn more about how to build and share wisdom.

October Mentoring Event-Integrity Scoot game which was played outside with 1st and 5th grade buddies to discuss integrity scenario cards.
*All grade levels viewed the Juicebox Bully text via our Livestream announcement platform and took the Anti-Bullying Pledge.
*HIB Anti-bullying specialist Ms. Harrison created classroom lesson to explore text "Sometimes jokes are not funny" about hidden bullying.
*All 4th and 5th-grade classrooms had HIB policy law lessons to review NJ polices and procedures.Character word of the month: Self-Control
Self-control Character Ed. Poster
November Mentoring Event-1st and 5th grade buddies put self-control into action through engaging self-control games.
All classrooms-Watched Clark the Shark on the livestream announcements. Then follow-up activities and counseling lessons to support school-wide text.
Character word of the month: Justice
*All grade levels debriefed Justice and participated in playing fair through a school-wide board game day. We are game to play fair!

December Mentoring Event-Grades 1 and 5 First and fifth grade buddies met in the cafeteria to play and enjoy putting justice to practice by being fair in their board game skills.
Character word of the month: Fortitude

*All grade levels had follow-up activities from the school-wide text and a counseling classroom lesson to further discuss fortitude.
Jan. Mentoring event-First and fifth grade buddies met in the gym to complete Fortitude stations.
Character word of the month: Positive Attitude
Positive Attitude Pen-pal Exchange-All grade levels participated in a Pen Pal exchange between classes of positive attitude message letters.
In the beginning, of March students met their penpals in person and got a chance to read books together and even share advice or play mini-games. Everyone showcased their positive attitudes and had a fun time connecting.
